Juke box
Tonya and I found this great little restautant at St. George and Dupont. The best part is you get an old fashioned juke box at your table. We’re pretty sure it actually plays records. Only 25 cents a song! We’ll certainly be going back there.
T-shirt
For 9.99 I hope you get more than a shirt with a piece of paper taped to it…
Destruction
Picture taken at the renovation of the Dominion at Bloor and Spadina. I like the little heart. I feel like Obama destroyed McCain in the first debate. I wonder what the right wingers think…
Panorama
Tonya and I went to Panorama on a whim. Quite the view.
Quote of the day: “…everyone working on the handwash project is sick…”
Packing Up Timelapse
This is the process of packing up at the end of our canoe trip. You can tell that we were all pulling our own weight and no one was standing around not doing anything.
A little bit fishy…
This picture was taken in Balboa Park in the Japanese garden. Balboa park is a fantastic use of public space. It’s a huge park right in the middle of San Diego. There are something like 20 museums in the park. They choose a few of these to be free each week. My favorites were the photography and model train museums. They have a great cactus garden in the park too. All Americans should move to San Diego. No risk of Gustav or Ike. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Huston. If I lived in Huston I’d be uncomfortable when they told me to “hunker down” and that not evacuating was a “calculated risk”.
Cloudy Water
One of the evenings on our canoe trip was perfectly still. The lake was glass. Actually the water wasn’t cloudy at all…all the acid rainy goodness of Inco’s smelting process from decades ago has ensured that the water remains crystal clear even to this day…
I hope the hadron collider doesn’t make a black hole and suck us all up…I’ll miss evenings like this…

Silver Peak Clouds
Another cloud video from our canoe trip. This one was taken from Silver peak … the third highest point in Ontario at 539m. You can see the Sudbury smoke stacks from there on a clear day.
If only the big four parties could see the lay of the metaphorical political landscape from such a perspective. I hope May gets to debate it out with the others.
Clouds moving away and towards
This was the view from our campsite in Killarney Provicial Park this past weekend while we were there for a canoe trip. We were the only campsite on this lake.
I saw more wildlife on this trip than ever before. We saw a bear, two moose, two or three beavers, turtles, a fox, along with assorted loons and frogs.
The clouds closest to us seem to be moving toward us…and the ones higher up are moving away. Interesting wind patterns. I love how you can see the shadows of the upper clouds on the lower clouds….
Emily thinks this may have been due to a collision of a cold front and a warm front that led to the storm we experienced on Sunday.
Vote for this tree…
I can’t believe Harper is so far ahead in the polls. And how the heck is McCain tied to with Obama?!
What if trees could run for MP. I think they’d do a good job of representing my interests. I’d vote for this tree to be my MP.
I like this tree…he reminds me of the Go7. He lives in Sturgeon Bay Provincial Park.
