My first 3D photo

leave a comment »

I’m embarrassed to admit how long it took me to create this. (You’ll have to open it with Adobe Reader 7 or higher to make it work.) It’s a 3D photo of half my face taken using a hacked Kinect. Most of my time was spent trying to figure out how to embed the model in a PDF so it’s viewable in 3D. (Drag your mouse in the middle of the PDF page and you should see part of my face moving about).

Someone awesome put them there for our enjoyment.

We came to a screeching halt on the highway when we noticed these crazy trees with shoes nailed to them.

Next time, Tonya wants to do this with blue food colouring.

We finally got one to burst. The balloon here was actually green and it was filled with water mixed with red food colouring. You can just see a few remnants of the balloon in a few places behind the red water.

Highspeed Balloon

They don't make balloons like they used to.

Tonya and I set up a high-speed photo rig in the bathroom today to capture images of water balloons bursting. However, these new fangled balloons kept repelling our BBs.

And that's the kind of day it's been...

Lloyd Robertson hands off to Lisa LaFlamme. As far back as I can remember Lloyd Robertson was the anchor for the CTV news.
