World Toilet Day

with 2 comments

What kid isn't looking for deals on lumber?

Yesterday (Nov 19th) was World Toilet Day. 2.6 billion people do not have access to proper sanitation. People without toilets are forced to go in public places. This is a particularly important issue for women who are often not permitted to relieve themselves during daylight hours for issues of “modesty”. After dark, they are at risk of assault.

The Big Squat tries to raise awareness for this issue by getting people to squat for one minute in a public place. We’re working towards a day when all little girls can sit on the toilet reading Beaver Lumber catalogs.
