Sam was very open about things others might consider his trade secrets...

Thanks to Tonya for making me sign up for a photography workshop with Sam Javanrouh. He’s the author of Daily Dose of Imagery which is one of the top photo-blogs in the world.  He’s responsible for one of my all-time favorite photos. Sam gave us a number of excellent hints and tips on photography including how to take photos while panning. It takes a little to get the hang of it, but I think the effect is worth it.

Only one driver gave us the finger...

  1. Does he use a tripod or is that hand held?

    • Handheld. You just have to get good at pivoting at the waist while tracking a car with the camera in shutter-priority burst mode. Set the shutter speed in the vicinity of 1/30 or 1/45.
